Nantes have suffered their first defeat of the season as they were beaten 2-1 by Nice at Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday afternoon.

The match was a tough one for both teams, but it was Nice who emerged victorious in the end.

In the first half, both sides struggled to create any real opportunities and it wasn't until the 45th minute that the home side finally broke through.

A well-worked move saw Guillaume Hoarau cross into the box where Mathieu Debuchy headed the ball back across goal for Boudaoui to volley home from close range.

This goal gave Nice a slender lead going into the break, but Nantes came out strong in the second half.

They created some good chances, including a shot from Boudaoui which hit the post, but it was Boudaoui himself who scored the equalizer just before half-time.

With the score level at 1-1, the game seemed to be heading towards extra time, but Nice's victory proved too much to withstand.

Boudaoui's late winner ensured that Nice would leave Stade de la Beaujoire with all three points.

It was a tough day for Nantes, who now find themselves in fifth place in Ligue 1, while Nice remain top of the table.

Both teams will be hoping to bounce back from this defeat soon, but for now, it is clear that there is still a lot of football left to play.
