Aberdeen Football Club has announced the signing of five new players ahead of this summer's transfer window, with the aim of strengthening both their defense and attack.

The first signing is defender Liam Trotter, who joins from Scottish Championship side Dumbarton. Trotter is known for his defensive prowess and will be expected to provide cover for the club's backline.

Next up is midfielder Jack McInally, who comes from the youth academy at Dundee United. McInally has impressed during his time there and is seen as a potential future star for Aberdeen.

Another addition is forward Jordan Mawby, who has previously played for Hearts and Livingston. Mawby is a strong striker who can score goals, making him a valuable asset to the team.

Midfielder Lewis O'Brien completes the trio of signings, joining from Scottish League One side Clyde. O'Brien brings experience and leadership to the squad, and is expected to make an immediate impact on the pitch.

Finally, goalkeeper Ben Godfrey arrives at Pittodrie Stadium, joining from Scottish Championship side Queen of the South. Godfrey is a solid shot-stopper who will be vital in goalkeeping duties.

Aberdeen's manager, Derek McInnes, was pleased with the signings, saying: "We're delighted to bring these talented young players into our squad. They all have the potential to make a significant contribution to our success, both defensively and offensively."

With the signings made, Aberdeen will be hoping to build upon last season's impressive campaign, which saw them finish second in the Scottish Premier League. The signings made in the summer transfer window will undoubtedly help towards achieving that goal.
